Wash. Court Throws Out Asbestos Claims Against Premises Defendant; Cites Conflicting Employment Records

TACOMA, Wash. –– A Washington federal court has awarded summary judgment to a premises defendant in an asbestos case, finding that the plaintiffs’ timeline of alleged exposure was not backed by employment and Social Security records.

In the Sept. 2 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington opined that the only evidence supporting the plaintiffs’ exposure claims at the work site is “uncorroborated and self-serving” testimony.
