Missouri Court Denies Motions to Dismiss Amended Asbestos Complaint

ST. LOUIS –– A Missouri federal court that recently obtained jurisdiction over an asbestos case has denied a number of pending motions to dismiss the amended petition, saying that nothing in the lawsuit is so unintelligible or vague that it would leave the defendants unable to form a defense.
In the July 22 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri further warned the parties that it would not tolerate “generic, baseless motion practice.”
