N.Y. Jury Awards $25 Million in 2 Asbestos Cases Against Crane Co.; 20 and 9 Percent Liability Allocated

NEW YORK –– A New York jury has awarded $25 million at the end of a consolidated asbestos trial in which two former electricians claimed they developed mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos-containing products.
Jurors in the New York Supreme Court for New York County returned the verdict June 16 against Crane Co., the lone remaining defendant in the case. Jurors allocated 9 percent liability to Crane Co. in one of the cases, and assigned 20 percent liability to the defendant in the second case.
