R.I. Court Limits Discovery Requests in Asbestos Case Against Premises Defendants

PROVIDENCE, R.I. –– An asbestos plaintiff in Rhode Island will be permitted to proceed with discovery requests related to two premises defendants’ knowledge of asbestos hazards at their hospitals, according to a recent court ruling.
While the Rhode Island Superior Court limited the scope of such requests in the May 23 decision, it ultimately found that supplemental sets of interrogatory requests should be permitted, as the sought information is “directly relevant” to the plaintiffs’ claims.
