N.Y. Jury Awards $11 Million in Asbestos Case Against Ford Motor Co.

NEW YORK –– A New York jury has awarded $11 million at the conclusion of an asbestos trial against Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F), finding that the decedent’s exposure to asbestos-containing brakes, clutches and gaskets during his nearly 50 years as a mechanic caused him to develop mesothelioma.
Judge Barbara Jaffe of the New York County Supreme Court presided over the trial, which ended in a verdict on May 27. Ford was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the verdict, sources told HarrisMartin.
