Asbestos Bankruptcy Court: Rule 2019 Filings ‘Public Records Available for Examination’

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –– The federal court overseeing Garlock Sealing Technologies’ bankruptcy proceedings has granted an motion filed by Ford Motor Company, and joined by several other defendants, for access to Rule 2019 filings.

In the four-page order issued May 6, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina permitted the movants access to “any and all” of the Rule 2019 filings –– which contain disclosures made by the committee representing asbestos plaintiffs in the bankruptcy proceedings –– including accompanying exhibits.
