NYC Special Master: Residency Alone Not Enough to Establish Nexus to City for Inclusion on In Extremis Docket

NEW YORK –– A Special Master overseeing New York City’s coordinated asbestos docket has issued two recommendations on forum challenges, finding in one case that the plaintiff’s New York residency alone was not enough to establish a sufficient nexus to the city for inclusion on the in extremis docket.
In separate recommendations issued April 29 and 30, Special Master Shelley Rossoff Olsen of the New York County Supreme Court addressed efforts by defendants to exclude two plaintiffs from the court’s docket.
