CHEYENNE, Wyo. –– Several asbestos defendants –– including CBS Corp., and General Electric –– have been awarded summary judgment by a Wyoming federal court, which ruled that the plaintiffs’ evidence did not link “a single fiber” of asbestos from the defendants’ products to the decedent’s illness.

In the April 7 order, the U.S. District Court for the Wyoming District Court opined that although a choice-of-law dispute existed between the parties, neither Pennsylvania’s “frequency, regularity, and proximity” test nor Wyoming’s “more generalized law on substantial-factor causation” would have permitted the claims to proceed.
