N.C. Court Dismisses Fraud Claims Against Ford Motor, Kawasaki in Asbestos Case

NEW BERN, N.C. –– A North Carolina federal court has granted two automotive defendants’ motions to dismiss asbestos fraud claims, finding that the plaintiffs had failed to establish the time, place and contents of the alleged false representations.

In the April 11 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina noted that the plaintiffs had not responded to the dismissal efforts from Ford Motor Co. and Kawasaki Motors Corp.

The plaintiffs contend that Larry Winslowe Lee developed mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos while employed as a mechanics’ helper, maintenance laborer, inspector, construction worker …
