Ill. Court Retains Jurisdiction over U.S. Naval, Automotive Asbestos Exposure Suit

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. –– An asbestos suit alleging both U.S. Naval and automotive exposures will remain in federal court after the court determined that Crane Co. satisfied the elements of removal on federal officer grounds.

In the April 9 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois did, however, dismiss the plaintiffs’ complaint with leave to amend after it found that the lawsuit was not clear as to which defendants are sued in each cause of action.
