Honeywell, Volkswagen Join in Efforts to Unseal Asbestos Evidence from Garlock's Estimation Trial

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –– Honeywell and Volkswagen have moved for access to unseal evidence in Garlock's bankruptcy proceedings, with Honeywell contending that it has been subject to the “same form of conduct” described by the federal court in its recent opinion estimating Garlock's asbestos-related mesothelioma liabilities at $125 million.
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina is scheduled to hold a hearing on several motions –– filed by Ford Motor, Honeywell, Volkswagen and a news outlet –– on March 27, according to a notice of proposed agenda entered on March 24.
