Calif. Jury Reaches Verdict for Copeland in Asbestos Case Involving Defendant's Compressors

LOS ANGELES –– A California jury has reached a defense verdict in favor of Copeland Corporation LLC, rejecting claims that asbestos-containing gaskets in the defendant's compressors caused a refrigeration worker's mesothelioma.
The California Superior Court for Los Angeles jury deliberated for seven hours before reaching the verdict. Judge William Willett presided over the three-week trial.
Copeland was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the verdict.
