NEW YORK –– A New York trial court has consolidated 17 asbestos actions for trial, creating seven trial groups after determining that common questions of law and fact existed within those groups.
In a March 14 order, the New York County Supreme Court altered the plaintiffs’ proposed groupings slighting, breaking one group of seven cases into two groups of four and three.
The underlying order addresses 17 asbestos actions in the Weitz & Luxenberg P.C., in extremis groups. The plaintiffs moved the court to consolidate the cases into six groups for a joint trial, citing common questions of law …
