N.C. Judge Defers Ruling on Summary Judgment Motions from Ford, Honeywell; Cites Dispute over Garlock Bankruptcy Ruling

NEW BERN, N.C. –– A North Carolina federal judge has deferred ruling on summary judgment motions filed by Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F) and Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE:HON) in an asbestos case, citing a dispute between the parties on the relevance of the recent estimation trial order released by the judge overseeing the Garlock Sealing Technologies bankruptcy proceedings.
In the Jan. 31 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina did grant unopposed motions filed by six other defendants in the action.
