Wisconsin Court Reverses Summary Judgment Award for Wisconsin Electric in Asbestos Case

MILWAUKEE –– A Wisconsin appellate court has reversed an award of summary judgment to asbestos defendant Wisconsin Electric, finding that the plaintiffs had properly alleged a claim under the state Safe Place statute.

In the Dec. 27 decision, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District I, pointed to other decisions from courts in the state that have held that the release of asbestos dust created an unsafe condition associated with the structure.
