N.J. Jury Awards $1.6 Million in Asbestos Talc Take-Home Exposure Case

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. –– A New Jersey jury has awarded $1.6 million in an asbestos-related talc case, voting 5 to 1 in favor of the plaintiffs, who had asserted take-home exposure claims.

The New Jersey Superior Court for Middlesex County jury reached the verdict on Nov. 1 after deliberating for three days. Vincent J. LeBlon presided over the three-week trial.

The jury broke its award into $1.4 million for Kaenzig and $200,000 for his wife’s loss of consortium claim. Cosmetic talc distributor Whittaker, Clark and Daniels Inc. was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the verdict.
