FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A jury has returned a $300,000 verdict in favor of a Florida man who claimed he was injured after being exposed to ExxonMobil’s asbestos-containing thermal insulation cement in the 1970s.

On Oct. 7, a jury sitting in the Broward County (Fla.) Circuit Court issued the award to George Johnson, 60, after a four-day trial overseen by Judge John J. Murphy III. The jury deliberated for more than five hours.
