NYC Judge Rejects Efforts to Try 7 Asbestos Cases Together, Consolidates Only 3 for Trial

NEW YORK –– A New York City trial judge has consolidated three asbestos cases for trial, finding “sufficient commonalities” between the three plaintiffs.

In the Oct. 17 decision and order, New York Supreme Court for New York County Judge George J. Silver rejected plaintiff efforts to join seven total cases for trial, finding that the remaining four cases should be tried separately.

Plaintiffs involved in cases involving alleged exposures to Daniel Carlucci, Louis Fishbein, Morton Frieder, Andre Krekora, Michael Lightsy, Jose Perez and John Ryan asked the court to consolidate the seven cases for trial. The defendants opposed …
