PHILADELPHIA –– The judge overseeing the national Asbestos Products Multidistrict Liability Litigation has issued an order in asbestos cases brought by the Chicago-based firm Cascino Vaughan Law Offices, asking that all counsel show cause why new scheduling orders and briefing schedules should not be entered in the cases.

After reviewing the cases, Judge Eduardo C. Robreno of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania found a “great deal of disarray with the parties’ discovery requests and responses, as well as confusing motions.”

The judge specifically cited more than 100 cases in which summary judgment motions are pending.
