NYC Asbestos Special Master Rejects Forum Objections to Case Alleging ‘Few Days’ of Exposure in City

NEW YORK –– A New York special master overseeing the asbestos coordinated docket has declined to dismiss a case included in the city’s October 2013 in extremis cluster, finding that the claims have a “sufficient nexus” to New York City.

In the Aug. 4 recommendation, Special Master Shelley Rossoff Olsen of the New York Supreme Court for New York County cited plaintiff expert testimony that she found lent weight to allegations that plaintiff Marvin Golden was exposed to asbestos at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
