New York City Special Master Upholds Forum Objections, Recommends 2 Asbestos Cases be Re-filed in Other Counties

NEW YORK –– A special master overseeing New York City’s coordinated asbestos docket has sustained forum-related objections to two cases pending on the court’s in extremis docket, ruling that the plaintiffs had “simply no nexus” to the city.

According to a July 1 written recommendation from Special Master Shelley Rossoff Olsen of the New York Supreme Court for New York County, the parties in the cases convened on June 12 to discuss forum objections.
