Judge Says Law Firm Can Alert Homeowners to Possible Presence Of Zonolite Insulation

SPOKANE, Wash. - A judge overseeing a class action filed against the makers of asbestos-containing Zonolite Attic Insulation will allow plaintiffs' attorneys in the case to notify residents in Washington state that the product may have been installed in their homes. Barbanti v. W.R. Grace & Co., et al., No. 00-2-01756-6 (Wash. Super. Ct., Spokane Cty.).
Spokane County Superior Court Judge Kathleen O'Connor said Jan. 9 that Lukins & Annis, which filed the suit on behalf of what could be an estimated 50,000 residents, can begin issuing notices to homeowners indicating the possible presence and hazards of Zonolite insulation.
