La. Court Dismisses Asbestos Claims Asserted by Decedent’s Estate, Denies Motion for More Definite Statement

NEW ORLEANS –– A federal court has dismissed claims asserted by the estate of a decedent in an asbestos case, ruling that Louisiana law prohibits an estate from recovery on the asserted claims.
In the June 19 decision, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana did, however, deny defendants’ efforts to have the plaintiffs file a more definite statement.
