Firm Drops Bid to Group 13,000 Asbestos Cases for Trial; Seeks Smaller Consolidation of 4,600 Lung Cancer Cases

BALTIMORE –– An asbestos law firm has dropped its bid to group an estimated 13,000 asbestos cases for trial, but has urged the court to consider an alternate consolidation of approximately 4,600 cases asserting lung cancer claims.

In a supplemental response filed June 3 in the Maryland Circuit Court for Baltimore County, the Law Offices of Peter G. Angelos said that it recognized that “limited” judicial resources would prevent the consolidation of more than 12,000 asbestos cases.
