Ill. Court Rejects Motion to Remand, Asserts Jurisdiction over U.S. Air Force Asbestos Exposure Case

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. –– An Illinois federal court has denied a motion to remand an asbestos action, accepting defense arguments that the U.S. Air Force asserted control on the specifications of asbestos-containing engines.

In the two-page June 11 memorandum and order, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois only said that it was “satisfied” with the support United Technologies Corp. had proffered when removing the claims.
