MDL Court Says Crane Co., Foster Wheeler Can’t be Held Liable for Products They Didn’t Manufacture

PHILADELPHIA –– The court overseeing the national asbestos products liability multidistrict litigation has awarded summary judgment to Crane Co. and Foster Wheeler, finding that the defendants could not be held liable for asbestos-containing products they did not manufacture or supply.

In the separate May 8 opinions, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said that while there is evidence that the plaintiff worked with the defendants’ products, there is no evidence that the companies provided the component parts that allegedly contained asbestos.
