Calif. Appellate Court Reverses Summary Judgment for Asbestos Defendant in Adhesive, Electrical Case

LOS ANGELES –– In two separate opinions, a California appellate court has reversed summary judgment awards issued to two asbestos defendants, opining that the trial court erred when it did not allow the plaintiff enough time to depose corporate representatives.

In the May 30 opinions, the California Second Appellate District Court reversed awards entered in favor of Dexter Hysol Aerospace LLC and Schneider Electric USA Inc., finding that the plaintiffs were left “without a reasonable time period” to review the depositions and respond to the defendants’ summary judgment motions.
