Seattle Jury Awards $6 Million at Conclusion of Asbestos Trial Against Caterpillar Inc.




SEATTLE –– A Seattle jury has awarded $6 million to the surviving family members of a former maintenance worker who performed work on Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) dozers that allegedly contained asbestos products, sources told HarrisMartin.

The King County (Wash.) Superior Court jury reached the verdict on May 14. Judge Douglass A. North presided over the trial.

The claims were brought on behalf of Edwin Estenson, who allegedly developed malignant mesothelioma from exposure to asbestos-containing products in the Caterpillar dozers.
