BALTIMORE –– As part of its response to a Maryland court’s questions regarding the proposed consolidation of more than 13,000 non-mesothelioma cases for discovery and trial, Union Carbide has claimed that the Law Firm of Peter Angelos used a Baltimore Orioles team doctor to file medical reports on behalf of 5,000 asbestos plaintiffs.
In the March 25 brief, filed in the Maryland Circuit Court for Baltimore County, Union Carbide argues that Dr. William Goldiner filed the medical reports on behalf of the plaintiffs in submissions made to bankruptcy trusts. Goldiner has been the team physician and medical director for …
