N.Y. Asbestos Special Master Proposes New Schedule for Exchanging Proof of Bankruptcy Claims

NEW YORK –– A Special Master overseeing compliance and discovery for New York City’s coordinated asbestos docket has recommended a modified schedule for the production of proof of claims submitted with bankruptcy trusts.

In the March 12 recommendation, Special Master Shelley Rossoff Olsen’s proposal would allow defendants to question plaintiffs about products manufactured by a bankrupt company but does not require the plaintiffs to submit proof of claims forms in order for the deposition to move forward.
