Maryland Judge Sends Questions to Counsel Involved in Proposed Consolidation of 13,000 Asbestos Claims for Trial

BALTIMORE –– A Maryland judge set to rule on a motion to consolidate more than 13,000 non-mesothelioma claims for discovery and trial has posed a number of questions to counsel involved in the asbestos cases, including what other approaches may alleviate the backlog of Maryland cases.

On Feb. 5, Judge John M. Glynn of the Maryland Circuit Court for Baltimore County issued an order asking counsel to answer five questions. The plaintiffs are scheduled to respond first, while defense responses are due March 25, sources told HarrisMartin.
