Meso Case Against Crane Co. Goes Forward Despite ‘Inconsistencies’ from Plaintiff’s Co-worker

NEW YORK — A former hospital worker’s asbestos claims against Crane Co. can proceed after a New York judge ruled that testimony from a co-worker indicated that the company’s valves may have been among the causes of the plaintiff’s mesothelioma.

New York County Supreme Court Justice Sherry Klein Heitler said in an order released Feb. 20 that despite inconsistencies in his former co-worker’s testimony, the evidence was sufficient to raise questions about whether plaintiff Robert Lowe was exposed to asbestos from Crane Co. valves or from two other manufacturers of valves that were present at Lowe’s work site.
