N.Y. Court: Long Island Lighting Co. Had Control Over Asbestos-Containing Products Used at Worksite

NEW YORK –– A New York court has denied a motion to reargue made by Long Island Lighting Co., concluding that there was sufficient evidence that the defendant exercised control over the asbestos-containing materials present at its work site.

In the Feb. 11 decision, the New York Supreme Court for New York County did grant the motion to reargue with respect to a specific Labor Law claim, noting that the plaintiffs did not oppose the motion to dismiss it.
