LOUISVILLE, Ky. –– A Kentucky appellate court has affirmed a nearly $36 million verdict entered against a defendant who failed to appear for trial, rejecting the defendant’s argument that it did not receive notice that the trial had been rescheduled.
In a Feb. 8 opinion, the Kentucky Court of Appeals opined that the defendant had not presented sufficient evidence to merit a new trial.
