JACKSON, Miss. –– Legislation that would require asbestos plaintiffs in Mississippi to disclose information relating to asbestos trust claims has died in committee, according to the state’s online records.

House Bill 529 was introduced on Jan. 21 and referred to Judiciary A of the Mississippi House of Representatives. Representative Jerry R. Turner (R) of District 18 authored the bill. Records show that the bill died in Committee on Feb. 5.

The bill intended to "require claimants in asbestos tort actions to make certain disclosures pertaining to asbestos trust claims that have been submitted to asbestos trust entities for the purpose …
