Ohio Jury Awards $2.6 Million, Allocates 6 Percent Liability to Ferro Engineering

CLEVELAND –– An Ohio jury has awarded $2.6 million to the family of a former boilermaker, allocating six percent to Ferro Engineering, the lone remaining defendant in the asbestos trial.
A Ohio Court of Common Pleas of Cuyahoga County jury reached the unanimous verdict on Jan. 30 after a four-day trial presided over by Judge Leo M. Spellacy.
Jurors awarded $1.3 million for the plaintiffs' survival claims and $1.3 million to wrongful death beneficiaries, sources said.
