Travelers Files Its Own Declaratory Action Against Goodyear Tire & Rubber

PITTSBURGH –– Travelers Indemnity Co. (NYSE:TRV) has filed its own declaratory action in Pennsylvania disclaiming coverage to Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (NASDAQ:GT) for underlying asbestos claim on the same day as the defendant filed its own action in Ohio.

In Travelers’ complaint, filed Jan. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the insurance company asks the court to determine the scope of its obligations under excess and umbrella liability policies for “certain asbestos-related liabilities, chemical-related liabilities, aircraft products-related liabilities and other products-related liabilities incurred or anticipated to be incurred by Goodyear.”
