NYC Special Master Recommends Denial of Efforts to Transfer Asbestos Case to Maine

NEW YORK –– A Special Master has recommended that forum objections made by General Electric (NYSE:GE) and CBS Corp. (NYSE:CBS) in an asbestos case be denied, opining that the decedent’s deposition testimony, while cut short, establishes “significant exposure to asbestos in New York City.”

In the Nov. 2 written recommendation Special Master Claire P. Gutekunst also wrote that the case management order governing the asbestos docket does not limit the court to considering only admissible evidence when weighing a forum-related objection.
