Ill. Court Vacates $89.6 Million Asbestos Verdict Against Pneumo Abex, Honeywell, Owens-Illinois

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. –– An Illinois trial court has granted post-trial motions of several defendants involved in an $89.6 million asbestos verdict, vacating the verdict as entered against Pneumo Abex LLC, Honeywell International (NYSE:HON) and Owens-Illinois (NYSE:OI).

In the two-page order entered Aug. 31 by the Illinois 11th Judicial Circuit Court for McLean County, Circuit Judge Scott D. Drazewski found that “all of the evidence, viewed in the light most favorable to the Plaintiffs, so overwhelmingly favors these defendants, that no contrary verdict can stand.”
