New York Court Splits 20 Asbestos Cases into 3 Groups for Trial

NEW YORK –– Twenty-two asbestos cases slated for trial will be tried in three groups, according to a New York court, which split the cases into categories of lung cancer claims, mesothelioma claims from naval exposure and mesothelioma claims without naval exposure. In re: New York City Asbestos Litigation, No. 190181/2011 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., New York Cty.).
In the Aug. 7 order, Judge Paul G. Feinman of the New York Supreme Court for New York County ordered the first group of seven lung cancer cases to trial on Sept. 10.
