BALTIMORE - A federal district court judge in Maryland has remanded an asbestos case removed by a defendant that was added to the complaint nearly a year after the lawsuit was filed. Sledz v. The Flintkote Co., et al., No. 02-2050

Judge Andre M. Davis of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland ruled July 11 that the mesothelioma claim filed by Charles Michael Sledz against removing defendant Flintkote Co. should be remanded in light of the fact that Flintkote removed the suit more than a year after the original claims were filed.
