NEW YORK -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit has upheld a District Court order allowing asbestos claims to proceed against Pfizer Inc. involving exposure to a product manufactured by the defendant's bankrupt subsidiary. In re: Quigley Co. Inc., et al. v. Law Offices of Peter G. Angelos, No. 11-2635, 11-2767 (2nd Cir.).
In the April 10 opinion, the appellate court held that the claims filed against Pfizer were outside the scope of an injunction issued by the bankruptcy court.
