Crane Co. Seeks Modification Allowing MDL Judge to Address Remand Motions

PHILADELPHIA -- Crane Co. has asked the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to modify its recent order ceasing the transfer of future actions to the coordinated docket so that the MDL judge would continue to address motions to remand. In Re: Asbestos Products Liability Litigation (No. VI), MDL No. 875 (E.D. Pa.).

On Dec. 28, the defendant filed a motion to modify the JPML's recent order, saying that "questions of remand as they relate to the grounds for removal of these asbestos-related claims are not being uniformly decided by district courts across the nation."
