Dallas Jury Awards $8.4 Million to Former Insulator and Pipefitter

DALLAS -- A Dallas jury has awarded $8.4 million to a former insulator and pipefitter, rejecting arguments from the remaining defendant that the plaintiff was not exposed to asbestos in its product in a dosage sufficient enough to cause mesothelioma. Gensler, et al. v. Hercules Inc., No. DC10-08454-D (Texas 68th Civil Dist. Ct., Dallas Cty.).
Judge Martin Hoffman of the Texas 68th Civil District Court for Dallas County presided over the trial. Hercules Inc. was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the Dec. 29 verdict.
