Federal Court: CSX Can Contact Certain Clients of Firm Accused of Fraud

WHEELING, W.Va. -- A West Virginia federal court has issued an order in which it allows CSX Transportation Inc. to contact specific clients of an asbestos law firm that has been accused of fabricating asbestos claims. CSX Transportation Inc., v. Gilkison, et al., No. 05-00202 (N.D. W.Va.).

In the Nov. 9 order, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia found that while CSX could not contact individuals who are currently asbestos injury clients of the Pittsburgh-based plaintiffs' firm Peirce, Raimond & Coulter, the asbestos defendant could contact former clients or clients with no claims pending against …
