LOS ANGELES - A California appeals court has upheld a trial court's decision to award Ford Motor Co. $185,741 in expenses after jurors returned a verdict in favor of the friction defendant. Adams v. Ford Motor Co., No. B225791 (Calf. Ct. App., 2nd Dist.).
The Second District California Court of Appeal affirmed the award Sept. 29, rejecting an attempt by plaintiffs to reduce the award as unreasonable and based on Ford's offer to settle the case for $10,000 and a waiver of costs before the matter went to trial.
