Wash. High Court Set to Hear Arguments Involving Duty of Respiratory Mask Defendants

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Parties in an asbestos duty to warn dispute involving respiratory mask defendants are scheduled for a hearing Oct. 20, according to the Washington Supreme Court's online docket. Macias, et al. v. Saberhagen Holdings, et al., No. 85535-8 (Wash. Sup. Ct.).

On Sept. 19, a group of amici filed a brief in the state's high court supporting summary judgment in favor of the defendants, contending that to rule otherwise would create a "broad new duty rule requiring manufacturers of protective equipment to warn about risks of the products of others from which their own products provide protection."
