Asbestos Defendant Files Cross-Complaint
in Asbestos-SV40 Mesothelioma Lawsuit

SAN FRANCISCO - A friction asbestos product defendant named along with several pharmaceutical firms in a mesothelioma case alleging exposure to asbestos and Simian Virus 40 (SV40) has filed a cross-complaint for indemnity against the drug company defendants. Asker v. Asbestos Corporation Ltd., No. 407055 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
The cross-complaint, filed June 14 in San Francisco County Superior Court by Pneumo Abex Corp., denies responsibility for the injuries alleged by plaintiff Alan Asker, who sued the company and several others claiming that exposure to Pneumo Abex asbestos-containing brake products and an SV40-contaminated polio vaccine caused him to …
