Utah Federal Court Denies Defense In Limine Motions Shortly Before Case Settles

SALT LAKE CITY -- After three days of trial, all remaining parties in a Utah household exposure case reached a settlement agreement, sources confirmed to HarrisMartin, shortly after the same court had denied defense efforts to preclude evidence at trial. Larson, et al., v. Bondex International Inc., et al., No. 08-00333 (D. Utah).

According to the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah's online docket, jury selection began on Aug. 11 in the case filed by Dianna Larson. Shortly thereafter, Union Carbide reached a settlement agreement with the plaintiffs, leaving Georgia-Pacific as the only remaining defendant when opening statements …
