Jury Awards More Than $50 Million in 2 Cases, Including $32 Million in Naval Case

NEW YORK -- A jury hearing arguments in two separate asbestos cases has awarded more than $50 million to the two plaintiffs, including a total of $32 million to a former U.S. Naval worker who claimed that he was exposed to asbestos-containing products. Konstantin, et al. v. 630 Third Avenue Associates, et al., No. 190134/2010; Dummit, et al. v. A.W. Chesterton, et al., No. 190196/10 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., N.Y. Cty.).
The New York County Supreme Court jury reached the verdict earlier today in the two separate cases against remaining defendants Crane Co., Elliot Turbomachinery Co. Inc., and Tishman Liquidating Corp.
